Decent, with a small issue

I booked a One Day Sightseeing Tour of San Francisco a few weeks ago. The tour itself covered all the main spots like Golden Gate Bridge and Fisherman's Wharf, and the guide was pretty good. The bus was clean and comfortable. My only small issue was the pickup. The instructions said to be at a certain spot by 8 AM, but the bus arrived closer to 8:20 AM. It wasn't a huge delay, but standing around with luggage for 20 minutes was a bit annoying. Once we got going, the rest of the day went smoothly. Customer service was responsive when I inquired about the delay later, so that was positive. For the price, it was a good way to see the city.

Good trip overall

I booked the 3-Day Washington DC, Philadelphia, and Niagara Falls Tour a few months ago for a family trip. The booking process on the website was straightforward, I got an instant confirmation email which was helpful. The pickup location details were clear. Our bus was comfortable enough for the long drives, and the guide was knowledgeable about the different sites, especially in DC. We stayed at decent hotels along the way. I did have a question about the optional activities and used their customer service chat, they responded within 15 minutes and clarified everything. The Niagara Falls part was definitely the highlight. Everything ran mostly on schedule; I think we had one minor delay getting out of Philadelphia but it wasn't a big deal. Overall, it was a well-organized trip for the price.

Reliable for quick trips

I've used Take Tours a few times now for quick intercity bus tickets, mostly the New York City Sightseeing tours. This last time I booked a Boston Historical Tour. It was consistent with my previous experiences; the bus was on time, and the guide was informative. It's my go-to for these kinds of day trips because I know what to expect.

Great value for a family tour

I was looking for an affordable family vacation and found a Buy 2 Get 1 Free deal for the Florida Vacation Package. We got the Orlando Theme Park Shuttles and some hotel nights included. It saved us a good chunk of money compared to booking everything separately. The package made the whole trip much more manageable and within our budget. Felt like a solid deal for what we paid.

Do they offer any student discounts? I'm planning a spring break trip with some friends.

W Wendy Ito 1 month ago
I've seen mentions of it, but it's not always super obvious. Check their site or maybe sign up for the newsletter, sometimes those have special codes.

pretty sure they do! i saw something about it in their FAQs, you might need a student ID though.

Is it possible to change the date of a tour after booking? My work schedule is a bit unpredictable.

R Ryan G. 2 months ago
Depends on how far in advance you try to change it. I had to shift a date once, and it worked, but I did it like 3 weeks out. They have a policy, check that.

yeah, they usually let you if it's not too close to the tour date. there might be a fee or something, or you might only get credit. read the terms on your specific booking.

Thinking of booking a multi-day trip to Europe. How reliable are these guys for long international tours?

J James Beaumont 1 month ago
I used them for an Italy package, and it was mostly good. Hotels were decent, and the schedule was packed but fun. Just be ready for a lot of bus time.

My friend went on an Asia tour through them and had a positive experience. It's not super luxury, but for the price, it's solid. Just vet the tour company they're partnering with if you can.

Anyone know if the "buy 2 get 1 free" deals are actually good? Like, what's the catch?

R Rachel Okafor 2 months ago
Usually it means the third person shares a room with the first two. So if you're cool with that, it's a solid deal. I snagged one for an NYC trip.

No major catch, just read the fine print on which tours it applies to. Not everything qualifies, but for the ones that do, it's pretty straightforward savings.

Are the pickup spots for tours usually easy to find? I'm worried about missing the bus for a DC day trip.

L Laura V. 2 months ago
They usually give you pretty specific instructions with landmarks or addresses. I used them for a Boston tour and the pickup was right where they said it would be.

i think it depends on the city, but my experience in LA was good. the instructions had a map link and everything. just make sure you're there early!

Thinking of booking a Yellowstone tour for the summer, how legit is this site compared to like, Expedia?

B Beth Beaumont 2 months ago
Yeah, totally legit. I used them for a Grand Canyon trip last year, no issues. It's more focused on the bus tours, I think, so maybe a bit different than a general travel site.

E Emma Doyle 2 months ago
They're fine, just check reviews for the specific tour operator they use. Some are better than others, but TakeTours itself is just the booking platform from my experience.
